ಗೊಜ್ಜವಲಕ್ಕಿ /gojjavalakki
Method 1: Revathy Shrikanth
Ingredients
- Avalakki thick variety 1 cup ground coursely
- Jaggery - small lemon size
- tamarind water 1/4 cup
- Rasam powder - 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- water 1/2 cup
For seasoning
- oil 4 tsp
- mustard seeds 1tsp
- Channa dal 1tsp
- urad dal 1tsp
- curry leaves
- ground nuts 2tsp
- hing one pinch
- Grated coconut 1/4 cup
For garnishing
- chopped coriander leaves
Method
- Mix bella, tamarind juice, water, rasam powder, salt, chilli powder.
- Add the coursely ground avalakki and keep it aside till it absords all the water. This mixture can be tasted to adjust the Uppu/huli/kaara.
- Heat oil in kadai and add the seasonings one by one. Add grated coconut and mix well. Add the avalakki mixture. Mix well and heat it till its little hot.
- Garnish it with coriander.
- Optional: We can add roasted and powdered sesame seed powder and dry coconut .
