Recipe: Kaashaaya

Recipe 1: Karthik

  • Ginger, pepper, onion, jaggery and turmeric. 
  • Thinly slice ginger and cut onion. Add black pepper (cracked) to 3 cups of water
  • Once it comes to boil, keep low flame and let it reduce to 1/4th
  • Add little water, add jaggery and bit of turmeric. 
  • Let it boil till jaggery dissolves. 
  • Strain and mix with milk

Recipe 2: Pratibha

  • 3tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1tsp jeera
  • 1tsp crushed pepper  
  • 1 inch ginger (grated) 
  • 2 cloves 
  • 3 cups water 
Boil the above ingredients. Bring it to 1/2 the quantity. Add jaggery towards the end. Strain and add milk if needed.
