Recipe: Kareda Kadubu!

For the dough: 

Take one cup chiroti Rava, 2 spoons Wheat flour, 1/4 cup Rice flour. Add salt as needed and a pinch of sugar. To this add 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder. Heat 4 spoons of ghee and add hot ghee to this. Mix well. Now add water and mix, the dough should be a little harder than the consistency of chapathi dough. 

The Filling:

Take half cup jaggery in a thick bottom pan. Add little water(around 100 mL) and allow the jaggery to melt. To this add seeds of cardamom from one pod. Now add  1 cup of freshly grated coconut. Mix well. Keep stirring by adding ghee little by little, for about 5 minutes. You can sense the hardening of the mixture . Now turn off the flame and allow it to cool. Don't make it too hard. 

Make small discs of the dough. Apply lil water to the rim of the disc. Place a lil filling in the center and close it to make a semi circle. Now press the edges and firm it with a fork (impression of the fork binds 2 sides of the disc). Fry it in oil and enjoy.
